Seller of The Week

Seller Of The Week: Gerarden Fabrication & Design

Quality.

An interior design requirement that you can agree on with anyone.

If you spend your money on furniture, you want it to both look so great that people say “wow!” and to last multiple generations.

If you’re searching for a furniture manufacturer that ticks both checkboxes, your Seller of the Week is going to leave you very excited.

When we came across the services of Gerarden Fabrication recently we were so impressed by the quality of the workmanship and the customer service they offer that it spawned an idea for a new category to this website.

Have you figured out that new category?

We bet you have, but if you haven’t, it’s called: Seller of the Week.

Regular showcasing of quality craftsmen and craftswomen, artisans or manufacturers.

We’ll bring you furniture, homeware and accessories that embrace excellence in design and production.

Etsy Store: Gerarden Fabrication

Gerarden Fabrication is family run business headed up by Codey Gerarden.

Started in 2016, it began in the garage of their home which has now expanded into a 4000 ft² commercial workshop facility.

The whole operation has an air of quality infused throughout all that they do.

From initial design through to delivery, Gerarden Fabrication push for excellence to ensure the highest customer satisfaction possible with the end result.

With the use of modern 3D design techniques and realistic rendering, your unique furniture is produced precisely to the agreed specifications.

There are a wide range of services and materials that Gerarden Fabrication offer.

Not only that, there’s very little that can’t be produced and, as the Etsy testimonials highlight time and again, the products are in the highest tier possible.

Do you know what the beauty is?

You’ll know what you’re getting before you receive it. That way there should be no concerns about build quality, even if you live far away or in another country.

For quality in furniture and fabrication Codey and his team are the best in the business.

We caught up with Codey to get an insight into the business and to see what his plans are for the future.

Q&A With Codey

A lot of the furniture you make is in an Industrial style. What do you like most about the style and is it one that you’ve always been interested in creating?

Our furniture will last for many lifetimes, and we love the thought of a well thought out piece being designed collaboratively with a client and eventually passed down through generations.

Modern industrial furniture has a very timeless look when done well.

You started in the garage of your home. That must seem like a lifetime ago, what are your aims for the future of the business?

It was actually only a few years ago!

Since then we have been able to relocate to a commercial facility and we recently doubled our shop space and built an office which allows me to better keep up with the design work while still actually producing the furniture.

We have 4000 sqft to work with but with the volume we have been taking in we need to double that again!

Looking at the excellent customer responses on your Etsy store you clearly take huge pride, not only in the quality of the workmanship, but in the quality of your customer service. How does the personal connection with each item produced help with the service you provide?

I want to give my clients a memorable experience so the goal has always been to treat every piece like the heirloom it will be.

For a piece of furniture that will last forever, it only makes sense to spend as much time as needed to dial the design in to perfection and we have a very unique and in-depth process to achieve this.

Part of that process is to fully understand what our clients truly want and we pay very close attention to those details.

As a result, I can remember the dimensions, color selection, final destination, and name of every client for every piece we have ever made over the years – because so much goes into the project development phase.

You’ve exported items to Canada and Italy recently. What role has Etsy had in your ability to distribute your furniture all across North America and now Canada and Europe?

So far we have exported to Canada, Italy, Australia, Belgium, Netherlands, and every state in the US except for Hawaii.

None of that would have been possible without Etsy – the Etsy marketing efforts have helped us to reach over 2 million people per year, worldwide.

How sustainable is the way you build your furniture and would you recommend your furniture to people who are searching for more environmentally-friendly products in their home?

Our furniture only ever has to be bought – and made – one time.  It never needs to be replaced.

This is the most environmentally friendly furniture you can get for that reason.

We only use mindfully sourced quality hardwoods and our finishing processes gives us a lot of flexibility in the materials and methods we use.

We actually have a Black Walnut slab in the shop that is being waxed with a food grade product for a client in San Francisco.

Many of our finishes are water based and we have an option to fit any requirement.

The Overview

Gerarden Fabrication is a family-run furniture manufacturer that produces quality products, without exception.

Codey and his team expect their beds, sideboards, tables and chairs to be handed down to younger generations.

To create furniture that’s durable for decades is no easy task.

They take as much time and care on each individual project as necessary and it shows in the craftsmanship and beauty of their work.
