Our Favorite Gallery Walls For All Your Excess Picture Frames

June 10, 2020 By Ben Leave a Comment

Too artistic for your own good?

Feel like no one understands you?

You need to get it all on the walls.

Gallery walls are exceptional for displaying a diverse range of artwork on the walls.

What Is A Gallery Wall?

Gallery walls are a collection of photographs, paintings or drawings arranged in frames across a large section of wall.

They can be positioned on one main wall, across multiple or even travelling up a set of stairs.

It can be difficult to know how to design it.

For example, you may find it tricky to get the correct spacing between the frames.

Want to know the best way to understand how to style gallery walls?

Excellent.

We’ve done you a favor and found some beautiful gallery walls to take inspiration from.

Complete the look of your home by adding gallery wall artwork to your living room or bedroom.

But, how do you do a gallery wall without it looking strange?

Living Room Gallery Wall

It’s a super peaceful and serene living room.

The gaps between the frames are consistent measurements and the colors match other pieces of furniture and decor throughout the room.

We love the flow of the gallery wall.

There’s a definite gesture as it rises and falls.

Eclectic Gallery Wall

We love this image.

If you want to learn how to create an eclectic style gallery wall, this is one of the best examples you can use.

The blue velvet sofa draws the eye and the gallery wall compliments it with similar tones – we particularly like the wide, panoramic ‘Magic’ frame.

The white walls bursting through the gaps between the frames means the blue doesn’t overwhelm the room.

A Stairway Gallery Wall

Stairway gallery walls are great.

The trick with a stairway is to keep the artwork in a line.

Listen up: you want to place stairway frames in a street-like grid that follows the gradient of the stairs.

Notice how similar the colors of these picture frames are to the wood of the banisters.

The art on this gallery wall is awesome.

They’re the sort of gems you can find on Instagram if you go searching deep enough.

The art matches the sofa, throw blanket, cushions and even the circular rug that’s creeping into frame down there and the frames have been kept neutral to allow everything else to show off.

Who said gallery walls had to conform to the norm?

Not with this one.

You’ve got cranes, cats and a Queen…

Love the spectrum of colors in the above image, the owner has had fun putting it all together.

A Gorgeous Blue Gallery Wall

It’s rare to see large walls painted blue.

To then add a gallery wall like this on top of it is brave and something to be celebrated.

Our favorite thing about this?

The balance between how interesting the paint color is and these delightfully unusual pieces of artwork.

They compliment one another in a very satisfying way…
