It’s not particularly important to us but almost two years on it still impresses us every time we enter our home and that’s the main thing.
We instantly fell in love with it when we viewed the house and we hope our guests love it as just as much as we do!

I’ve always loved period homes but as beautiful as they are they do not come without their challenges.
You’d be hard pushed to find a straight wall but it’s all about embracing the quirks and accepting that things will never be perfect.
We want to preserve as many of the original features as possible and sometimes that means compromising our ‘ideal’ interior.
Some of the rooms are huge and as a result, certain pieces of furniture can feel a bit ‘lost’.
I think carefully planning how we will use each space has helped to overcome that but there are still lots of corners we are waiting to fill!
The tiles were already in place when we bought the house.
I wasn’t overly keen on them at first but they have definitely grown on me.
We haven’t changed much other than add a few neutral accessories.
Our plan is to eventually renovate the family bathroom and slightly change the layout to house a bigger shower but we have so many other things to tackle first.
It has to be our master suite.
It was our first big renovation project for the house and involved knocking through from the master to the second bedroom to create an en-suite and dressing area.
It’s the perfect space to relax and the freestanding bathtub in the bay window is definitely a highlight.
I have quite an eclectic mix of style and taste so I find that creating mood boards really helps me to hone in on my desired interior.
As they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day so it’s important to take time over things, build on your ideas and let a space come together organically.
I’m also a big believer in just genuinely choosing things that you love.
Each time I come across something that catches my eye be it a piece of furniture, an accessory or a particular color, I stop and ask myself ‘do you love it?’. If the answer is yes then I go for it!
Rooms Solutions would like to say a huge thank you to Lauren for taking part in this Home Tour.
